PLATTSBURGH, NY - Schonbek, maker of traditional crystal chandeliers for 134 years, is invading the technical lighting market this fall with Geometrix®.
A totally new category of high-tech low-voltage lighting, Geometrix® is designed by Schonbek with Strass® crystal by Swarovski®.
“We saw a lack of inspiration all around us in contemporary lighting design,” said President & CEO Andrew Schonbek. “The millennium came and went with no real change in product offerings. Geometrix® is truly in step with the twenty-first century. We’ve embraced the unorthodox idea that spare and simple can also be bold and brilliant.”
A new lily-cut Strass® crystal octagon is used to weave fiery bodies in geometric shapes: spirals and slices, cubes and rectangles. This crystal has a higher refractive index than any cut previously available, accounting for the otherworldly radiance of Geometrix®.
Geometrix® comes in 37 different crystal colors. These are composites unique to Schonbek. Pure white halogen or xenon light ignites the crystal to create shimmering auras. Colors range from ethereal to off the charts.
The collection includes crystal pendants, wall sconces and chandeliers.
An advanced design concept, Geometrix® comes alive in context. It’s especially effective hung in multiples over a kitchen island, by a bathroom mirror, in a foyer, down a hallway, over a bed – or hovering like unexplained celestial phenomena within a subspace of a larger room.
